For artists working in any medium and of all levels of ability
As artists, we often find it hard to focus in one direction. There is so much that inspires us! But if we are scattered and flying off in too many directions, it may be that we are only touching the surface of what has moved us to create.
Conversely, some artists narrowly limit themselves and discover they are in a rut. Their work has failed to grow and speak to others.
Feeling scattered, regularly frustrated, unfocused or stuck are growing pains. They are the signs that you are ready to move on. Finding and developing our personal voice is a lifelong endeavor. The more developed it is, the more we can convey in our work.
In this one day workshop, you will seek to clarify, expand and strengthen your personal voice by considering your intentions, considering your influences and sources and learning the skill of self critique. It will give you tools to cut through the fog of indecision and get clear on what kind of art you want to create.
You are invited to bring in a couple of pieces of work to ponder as you dig deeper into what makes your art tick. Bring a notebook and sketchbook, pen and pencils.
