Learn to build a dynamic, balanced sculpture in this special workshop Nov. 10, 11 and 12 at Northwind Art School at Fort Worden. The expert teaching artist Christine Clark guides you through the full process, and all materials are provided with the registration fee. Using steel wire, mixed materials and found objects, you’ll get to play with the laws of equilibrium to create kinetic mobiles. You’ll work with lightweight delicate elements in union with heavier components, and you’ll use rods, wires and more to balance these opposing objects. Explore micro welding wire, jump ring and chain making, as well as ball bearing swivels and other elements to create your dynamic hanging sculpture. This workshop is open to ages 15 to adult.
Christine Clark is the builder of public art works across the Pacific Northwest. She is a nationally known teacher making her first trip to Port Townsend’s Northwind Art School!
