Event Details

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JANUARY 18 & 19, 10 AM-3 PM

Each day of this two day class we will tackle one of the anatomical features that send artists running.  Hands and feet are avoided, painted loosely, shoved in pockets, or just ignored in drawing because artists are afraid of rendering them incorrectly. We will learn anatomy and starting with bone and moving out through muscle and fat for both the hands and feet. Then we will learn multiple tricks to render hands and feet so they don’t come out looking funny. With that knowledge we will do some drills drawing many hands and feet quickly. When a bunch of practice is done we will do our best creating a finished drawing.

Please join me this will be a fun couple of days tackling one of anatomies hardest subjects and afterword we will all walk away a little better.

No supplies needed.

ABOUT RICK

There is one constant in my life and that is change. Meeting new people, moving, learning, and traveling is life’s adventure to me. I have been drawing and painting as long as I can remember. I spent hours drawing dragons, comic characters, and so much other fantastic stuff. Art has always been in my life and recently it has become the focus. My wife and I recently took 2 years off to travel. Then we moved to Port Townsend in 2016 and I attended The Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building. The traveling and school made me realize how much of my life is informed by what I create. Drawing is my kinesthetic approach to learning about the world around me. I love detail and process so I attempt to show both in my work.
