Billy Elliot

PG-13, 2000, 110 min.

Director: Stephen Daldry

An inspiring coming-of-age drama set in a mining town in northern England during the 1980s. The film tells the story of Billy, a young boy who discovers his passion for ballet, despite his father’s expectations for him to become a boxer. Against the backdrop of a community in turmoil due to the miners’ strike, Billy faces prejudice and adversity as he strives to follow his dreams and defy societal norms. This poignant film explores themes of self-discovery, family, and the power of pursuing one’s true calling.
