Grounds Laborer / Maintenance Worker (temporary position)
In collaboration with the Fort Worden Foundation, the Fort Worden Public Development Authority (PDA) is seeking a temporary grounds laborer/maintenance worker. This temporary hire is being funded thanks to the Jefferson Community Conservation Corps (JCCC) campaign to support Fort Worden PDA projects that meet a community need and enhance public spaces. JCCC funding supports hands-on help to maintain and enhance Fort Worden’s historic buildings, facilities and grounds while providing meaningful service and work for unemployed community members.
This position, under close supervision, performs work in support of the daily operations and maintenance of the grounds and infrastructure on the Fort Worden campus. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance on buildings, furniture, fixtures, and equipment; day-to-day maintenance of buildings and building systems; grounds activities, such as grass mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, planting, and maintenance of walkways and driveways; and operating and maintaining power equipment.

Applicants Sought for Fort Worden PDA Board of Directors (Volunteer)
The City of Port Townsend is seeking qualified individuals to serve on the Fort Worden Lifelong Learning Center Public Development Authority (PDA) Board of Directors. The City and the PDA are seeking board members with skills or experience in any of the following areas: public administration, marketing, communications, data sciences, or strategic planning.
The PDA Board of Directors has between seven and up to eleven members. The terms of three currently filled board seats expire after the October 2020 board meeting. New candidates and existing board members interested in reappointment must apply for three-year terms. A Nominating Committee will interview and recommend candidates to the Port Townsend City Council. Candidates are appointed by the City Council. Interviews will happen in October on a date to be determined.
City residency is not a requirement. PDA board membership is voluntary, and this is not a paid position.
