In this 4- week class Peter will teach the basic geometry of the head, its anatomy, muscles of form and expression, the features, and their lighting. He will share some thoughts on the head at angles and perspective.

The basic elements of drawing will be presented in the context of the head, These will include identification of form, mass conceptions, determining position, location, lighting, and proportion, and the use of common drawing systems.

Examples of master drawings will supplement the illustrations drawn during the lectures. The information is applicable to any skill level or technique. Between classes, students will be encouraged to work on portraits from life, with criticism in class available on request.
