On Friday, December 13 at 6 pm, Taps at the Guardhouse features a solo performance by Jack Dwyer, with songs supported by his remarkable instrumental work on guitar, banjo and mandolin. Dwyer writes great songs in the styles of bluegrass and classic country. Dwyer’s solo performances also reference traditional balladadry and heartfelt instrumentals drawn from his extensive old-time music repertoire.A local favorite of roots music fans, Dwyer works as a freelance picker with some of the most respected Northwest and nationally-based musicians. After serving seven years on the music faculty at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, Dwyer now teaches privately, and operates a recording studio in Port Townsend when he is not out on tour.
