Centrum’s vital chamber music series exists to showcase the brilliant talent of many of the world’s finest classical artists along with the top echelon of the most promising young talents in the field today. The intimacy and warmth of the Joseph F. Wheeler Theater at Fort Worden State Park provides an ideal venue for our dynamic performances and master classes throughout each year. Mozart – Quartet for Piano and Strings in G Minor, K. 478
Ravel – Sonata for Violin and Cello
Brahms – Trio No. 1 in B Major for Violin, Cello, and Piano, Op. 8
Artistic Director Lucinda Carver has enjoyed the privilege of working with many world-class musicians, particularly in the Los Angeles area. In curating this program of chamber music, she selected a handful of favorites and invited them to make music just for you. Violinist Tereza Stanislav divides her time among chamber, solo, orchestral and recording projects. She is a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and a former member of the Enso Quartet. Violist Rob Brophy is also a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and a former member of the Enso quartet and is currently a member of the New Hollywood string quartet. Cellist John Walz has appeared as a soloist with over 150 orchestras on four continents, performing well-known concertos as well as introducing newer works. He is currently the principal cellist of the Los Angeles Opera. Experience how the affection of these talented performers enhances the highest level of musicianship.
