Originally designed as a military base, Fort Worden has evolved into an iconic and cherished destination. More than 70 historic buildings span the 432-acre property, providing guests with a glimpse of Fort Worden’s past and a view into its future with a wide range of beautifully restored accommodations.

Available year-round, Fort Worden has overnight accommodations to suit every visitor. The Cottage Collection redefines the hotel experience, and is perfect for individual travelers, couples, and small families. Our Officer’s Row and Courtside collections are larger vacation rentals, offering families and friends a place to reunite. The Dormitories and Madrona Vista welcome group gatherings and conferences; and campsites are available on the beach or in the forest.

The Cottage Collection at Fort Worden redefines the hotel experience with five boutique homes, each with its own personality and charm. From an historic castle to quaint cottages, this collection of one and two-bedroom homes is perfect for couples, small families, and friends. These are some of Port Townsend’s most sought after rooms, situated at the confluence of the Juan de Fuca Strait and Puget Sound with spectacular views of the Cascade Range. The Officers Row Collection at Fort Worden features our premier Victorian homes. Choose from four large floorplans that range in size from four to six bedrooms. These historic vacation rentals are the most photographed on the campus and offer beautiful views across the Parade Grounds. Built in 1904, for commissioned officers and their families, these homes are grand in scale and can accommodate a large family or gathering of friends. Victorian details such as stamped ceilings, wood burning fireplaces, and wrap around porches make these homes a traveler’s delight.

The Courtside Collection at Fort Worden features four floorplans on historic NCO Row. These homes, originally built for the non-commissioned officers and their families, remain the ideal spot for family gatherings today. Homes in the collection range in size from two to four bedrooms and feature full kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms. These historic homes still retain their more modest interiors, and most of the floorplans are close to their original configurations.

Fort Worden can accommodate a variety of groups, from smaller gatherings seeking a more intimate cohousing experience to large groups seeking efficient and affordable overnight accommodations. Groups can also reserve conference and meeting spaces and enjoy the Fort’s eateries and catering services in conjunction with overnight rentals. Fort Worden will join the statewide reservation system for campground reservations in January of 2017. This will allow our guests to use the same website and Toll Free number for all Washington State Parks camping reservations.

During this transition no new reservations can be made for Fort Worden during the months of October, November and December—except for walk-in guests at the Front Desk in the Fort Worden Commons. In early January guests will be able to make reservations for 2017. 

All current reservations will be honored and transferred to the new system. If a guest has a reservation for 2016, Fort Worden Reservations can assist you with any adjustments or cancellations. Our staff is unable to make adjustments to 2017 reservations at this time.

Nestled on 432-acres of public lands, Fort Worden offers 30 forested campsites, 50 beach campsites and four primitive sites. All campsites feature a picnic table, a fire ring and access to heated bathrooms with coin-operated showers and an onsite coin-operated laundry. RV hookups are available at both campgrounds. Forest campsites offer dual utilities. Beach campsites offer full utilities. Primitive campsite are available exclusively to guests arriving by non-motorized vehicles i.e., bicyclists, kayakers, hikers.
