FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Chef de Cuisine
The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for all aspects of the kitchen such as menu plans, operations, recipes, financial responsibility, portion and inventory control, food quality, and employee supervision. The Chef de Cuisine provides leadership training and hands-on management of the kitchen staff. The Chef de Cuisine is in charge of executing the food in the main kitchen, drives menu design and kitchen creativity and is responsible for growing and developing the product and profitability of the food service program.
The Cook is responsible for preparing food according a recipe, preparing assigned menu items and all manual labor involved to clean and maintain their station practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills. The Cook works as part of a team in a dynamic and intense kitchen environment.
On Call Banquet Porter
The Banquet Porter is responsible for the setup, servicing and break down of all meetings and events in accordance with The Fort's high standards of quality. The Porter ensures all venues are well-maintained and cleaned including any safety or AV/equipment needs, adjustments or repairs, prior to or after an event. The Porter also assists with inventory control of catering equipment and furniture.
On Call Culinary Server
The Culinary Server is responsible for providing a range of duties with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages; setting up Mess Hall dining areas and beverage stations in preparation for food service as well as banquet service in various locations around the Fort. The Culinary Server position serves food to customers in either a banquet or cafeteria style setting and cleans up and breaks down cafeteria, beverage and dining areas at end of service, leaving service area ready for next event. The Culinary Server works to clean and maintain all areas by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills. The Culinary Server works as part of a team in a dynamic and fast pace environment.
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.
Guest Services Representative
Our front office is the hub of The Fort and all we do so our Guest Services Representatives must be the premier provider of excellence in the guest’s experience. As Guest Services Representative you will greet, register, orient and assign rooms to guests, and be an ambassador for everything The Fort has to offer. You are extremely professional, utilize superior customer service skills and portray a welcoming demeanor at all times. You also have financial acumen as you must ensure lodging financial transactions are properly executed. The Housekeeper Lead supervises the work activities of housekeepers to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms at Fort Worden including assigning duties, inspecting work and investigating complaints regarding housekeeping service.
Our Housekeepers are key to ensuring our Guests are comfortable and enjoying their stay at The Fort. They clean houses, dorms and common areas and assist with laundry when needed.
